The Texas Association of Sports Officials is a valuable resource for baseball, softball, basketball, football, soccer and volleyball officials in Texas. Each TASO Member, or prospective member, joins a local chapter in the sport they desire to officiate. The local chapter collects state dues, local dues, and the prospective member completes and signs a TASO membership. In turn, TASO provides each member a rule book and case book annually for each sport, and mechanics manuals, and NFHS pre-season guides if applicable. A membership card is supplied each year to all members. Regional workshops are held throughout the state designed to improve the officiating skills of the members who attend. In addition, they conducts an annual rules interpretation meeting, open to all members, in conjunction with the annual business meeting. Rules changes, points of emphasis, and interpretations are presented by qualified clinicians and guest speakers. application..
